New York Super Craft Beer Festival – 7/11/15

The New York Super Craft Beer Festival is New York’s best waterfront beer festival of the summer. The 2015 event happens July 11th at the Watermark Bar on Pier 15.

The festival will feature over 75 beers. We only expect that number to grow with future events.

As you might expect, much of the festival focuses on the emerging New York craft beer scene.

Our partner in this event, Union Beer is well-known as the to go to for exclusive and rare beers, one-offs and special firkins.

Since brewers never know when beers will be ready, we always release the beer list about one month before the event.

Plenty of food is always available from one of our many food vendors. And while you eat, be sure to listen to music that play as you taste craft beer with amazing views of New York at our 3,500 square foot venue featuring the Brooklyn and Williamsburg bridges and Brooklyn skyline.

CEG Presents An Evening With Golden Gate Wingmen – 7/30/15

With John Kadlecik (Furthur), Jay Lane (Furthur, Ratdog), Jeff Chimenti (Furthur, Ratdog), and Reed Mathis (Tea Leaf Green, Billy & the Kids)

After the surprise announcement of the end of Furthur, fans of improvisational jam music have been left to wonder what is next. Within days, the answer was evident, Golden Gate Wingmen. The band contains members of the highest quality, and from the first show were performing original material (mostly songs from John Kadlecik’s first album release under his own name.) The band premiered to a sold out audience on November 5 2014 at Terrapin Crossroads in San Rafael CA. Fans can expect both boundary thrashing original music, and material from the song book that they love, forged in an altogether new cauldron, the results of which will be unique to each night’s performance.

Event Price: $35

Snarky_webThe once Texan, now New York-based, Grammy award-winning quasi-collective Snarky Puppy has gone from the best-kept secret to one of the most respected names in instrumental music. Although still “underground” in many respects, the band has earned high praise from critical stalwarts like the BBC, Village Voice, Guardian, and Boston Herald, and has performed at some of the best venues and festivals in Asia, Europe, Australia, and North America.

The band has always used live performance as its chief form of evangelism, and maintains a more intense tour schedule than almost any band in the idiom. Over the course of 2013, Snarky Puppy gave almost 200 performances and workshops on four continents, including North Sea Jazz, Monterey Jazz Festival, Jazz á Vienne, Blue Note Tokyo, and the Melbourne International Jazz Festival.

Their most recent album, “Family Dinner – Volume One,” earned a Grammy for Best R&B Performance with featured guest Lalah Hathaway, as well as charting #1 on the ITUNES Jazz Charts.

Snarky Puppy seamlessly fuses a deep knowledge and respect for musical tradition with sonic and conceptual innovation in a way that is able to reach the most critical- or most carefree- audience. The convergence of musicians from white and black America (who also perform regularly with artists like Erykah Badu, Snoop Dogg, Kirk Franklin, Justin Timberlake, Roy Hargrove, and Marcus Miller among others), which occurred while the band was in its adolescence at the University of North Texas, has naturally established a system of balance that instantly draws listeners to the music- raw funk and sensitive dynamics, relentless pocket and lyrical melodicism, lush harmony and soulful simplicity, and most importantly, a delicate mixture of composition and improvisation.
